Out of the night that covers me
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be...
... for my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance...
... I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeoning's of chance...
... my head is blood, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears...
...looms but the horror of shade.
And yet the menace of the years...
... finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate.
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate.
I am the captain of my soul.

Invictus
-William Ernest Henley

I came across this poem from a zen pencils comic. I was just casually reading them because I'm in love with zen pencils. When I finished reading it, I stood from my chair and walked around my house.
It was soo freaking good that I couldn't bloody process it.
Like, I bloody knew the moment I finished this poem that this is soo my freaking favorite poem!!

"I am the master of my fate.
I am the captain of my soul."

How can anybody resist that??
Well currently I am obsessed with this poem and its gone in my diary(s) and it'll soon replace my dp (already took over my wallpaper).
So basically I wrote this post because I cant bloody contain this fabulous poem inside of me and I want everyone to know it and see it the way I do!!!!
Gahhhh!
I love this poem.
